Different from the aluminum alloy body of traditional notebooks, the magnesium alloy body of Huawei MateBook X Pro has the advantages of low density, good rigidity, and light weight. Moreover, the magnesium ingot was quenched at high temperatures three times for 18 hours, and was refined and extruded twice at temperatures above 350°C. Under Huawei's rigorous process, 2,590 grams of magnesium plate was carefully crafted into a micro-velvet machine. For notebooks, only 89 grams of usable part is retained for every 1000 grams of magnesium board, and every gram is carefully selected. This kind of body not only ensures that the whole machine is thin and has excellent rigidity, but also lays a solid foundation for subsequent spraying and grinding.
To ensure the tactile beauty of MateBook X Pro, Huawei has deeply optimized the micro-arc oxidation process through tens of thousands of electrical parameter combination adjustments and thousands of experiments, forming a dense oxide film on the surface of the magnesium alloy to enhance its corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and finally achieving a more textured matte surface and a comfortable and warm feel. Secondly, in the micro-velvet spraying process, it undergoes “museum-level” temperature and humidity control and 115 rigorous spraying processes. After the spraying is completed, it needs to be polished several times to ensure that every touch is warm and comfortable.
