Apple's MacBook Neo shipped 1.1 million units within three weeks of launch, becoming the best-selling Mac series

[ Gearbest Technology News]According to GearbestTechnology, the latest data released by IDC shows that Apple’s entry-level notebook MacBook Neo, launched in mid-March, has global shipments of 1.1 million units in the first quarter of 2026, becoming the highest-selling Mac model in the period just three weeks after its launch. During the same period, the M5 version of MacBook Air shipped 900,000 units, and the M5 MacBook Pro shipped 550,000 units.

Apple MacBook Neo was released in early March. The starting price in overseas markets is US$599, which is about 45% lower than the entry-level MacBook Air. The design focuses on youthfulness and portability. The body is made of aluminum alloy and is available in four colors: silver, peach pink, citrus yellow, and indigo blue. The screen is equipped with a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408×1506 and a brightness of 500 nits, but it does not support True Tone display and P3 wide color gamut.

In terms of performance, MacBook Neo uses the A18 Pro processor, which uses the second-generation 3nm process and has a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core neural engine. The whole system has 8GB of memory, and the storage space is optional 256GB or 512GB, the latter supports fingerprint recognition.

In terms of regional sales, the U.S. market accounts for 44% of global shipments. The sales cycle in the Indian market is short, with 18,000 units still shipped, and local dealers are generally facing supply shortages.

Counterpoint said that MacBook Neo has filled Apple's gap in the affordable notebook market between US$400 and US$699. Previously, Apple's market share in this price range was only 2%. The agency predicts that it is expected to increase to 15% in the future.
