Among them, total PC shipments dropped to 8.9 million units, and tablet shipments dropped to 8.3 million units. In terms of product categories, shipments of notebook computers (including mobile workstations) fell by 19% year-on-year, while shipments of desktop computers (including desktop workstations) increased by 41% year-on-year, reaching 5.3 million units and 3.6 million units respectively. Omdia predicts that mainland China's PC market shipments will drop by 14% to 36 million units in 2026; the tablet market is expected to drop by 11% to 32 million units.
Huawei
According to Omdia data, the ranking of desktop and notebook shipments in China (Mainland) in the first quarter of 2026 is as follows:
Lenovo shipped 2.8 million units, with a market share of 31%, a year-on-year increase of 5%, and continues to lead the PC market.
Huawei shipped 1.4 million units, with a market share of 16% and a year-on-year growth of 38%. It is the brand with the highest growth rate among the top five manufacturers.
Apple shipped 800,000 units and had a market share of 9%, a year-on-year decrease of 9%.
iSoftStone shipped 700,000 units, with a market share of 8%, a year-on-year decrease of 21%.
HP shipped 600,000 units and had a market share of 7%, down 1% year-on-year.
In the Chinese (mainland) tablet market in the first quarter of 2026, Huawei also performed well, ranking first with a growth rate of 11%.
Omdia expects that as manufacturers respond to these challenges, industry cooperation will further increase and new business model adjustments may emerge. One of the typical cases is the cooperation between Huawei and Xueersi. The two parties integrate educational content and AI learning tools into the HarmonyOS ecosystem of Huawei devices.
