[ Gearbest Technology News]Recently, AMD announced that the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, originally only available in China, will be launched globally on June 2, priced at US$549 (approximately RMB 3,720). This graphics card is positioned between the Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon RX 9070, complementing the RDNA 4 graphics card product line.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE uses the same 4nm Navi 48 core as the Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT, but with lower specs. Compared with the RX 9070's 56 computing units and the RX 9070 XT's 64 computing units, the RX 9070 GRE is equipped with only 48 computing units, which is 14% less than the RX 9070 and about 25% less than the RX 9070 XT. In terms of video memory, the card is equipped with 12GB GDDR6 video memory, which is 25% less than the other two 16GB models.

In addition, the RX 9070 GRE uses 192-bit memory bandwidth and a maximum bandwidth of 432GB/s, which is 32.5% lower than higher-spec models in the same series. However, its thermal design power consumption is still 220W, which is consistent with the standard version of RX 9070.

AMD said that in the 1440p gaming test, the RX 9070 GRE performed 21% better on average than the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. The test is based on a platform equipped with Ryzen 7 9800X3D and covers 40 games. Independent reviews from Chinese technology media have shown that the performance of this graphics card is indeed higher than the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, but still lower than the GeForce RTX 5070.
