Samsung S26 motherboard supply chain is widely adopted by Korean manufacturers and three models

[ Gearbest Technology News]According to Korean media reports, Korea Circuit() and DAPU(), the two largest PCB (printed circuit board) manufacturers in South Korea, dominate the development of Samsung Electronics' upcoming S26 series HDI (high-density interconnection) motherboards, and its products as the “first supplier” have accounted for more than 50%. In contrast, the share of Chinese manufacturers that previously dominated the S25 series has dropped to less than 50%.

HDI is one of the crucial core components in smartphones, mainly used to carry key chips such as processors and memory. It is reported that Samsung S26 series will launch three models, namely the 6.27-inch standard version, the 6.66-inch Edge version and the 6.89-inch Ultra version. Each model is equipped with a variety of HDI substrates including the main control board, slave board and interposer layer, and a total of 9 different types of HDI motherboards are required.

Industry insiders revealed that Korea Circuit and DAPU are currently responsible for the development of more than half of the products as the first suppliers. Although some of the products of Chinese manufacturers are still promoting as the first supplier, they are more involved in the development of other models as the second supplier.

Looking back at the S25 series released at the beginning of this year, among the nine HDI motherboards, the proportion of Chinese manufacturers as the first suppliers once led the Korean manufacturers. However, as Samsung's emphasis on supply chain security and stability continues to increase, it has gradually increased its support for local suppliers to reduce excessive dependence on external manufacturers.

It is understood that the S26 series HDI motherboard will enter the mass production stage in the fourth quarter of this year, and the revenue of relevant manufacturers is expected to usher in significant growth.
