[ Gearbest Technology News]According to Gearbest, starting from April 25, Microsoft has launched three new functions for Copilot+ PC users to improve the user experience and help users focus more on core tasks. The specific functions and online arrangements are as follows:
Recall
The Recall feature has been launched previously on the preview version, aiming to solve the problem of “difficulty in retrieving the progress of the last operation”. In the traditional way, users need to use fuzzy memory to find files or operation paths, and the Recall function supports users to quickly retrieve digital footprints and locate required content through the timeline scroll or content description. Microsoft data shows that the feature can reduce the time users can resume work by about 70%. Recall is an optional feature that focuses on user privacy and control. All data processing is done locally and will not be shared with Microsoft or third parties.
Enhanced Windows Search
The new version of the search function does not require the user to remember the file name or storage path, and files can be located only through natural language descriptions. Whether in the file explorer, search box or setting interface, the system can rely on the computing power of 40+ TOPS neural processing units to understand the context semantics of vocabulary and phrases, providing a more intuitive search experience.
Click to Do (one-click operation)
The Click to Do function has also been launched in a preview version, which supports rewriting, summarizing, copying and other operations of text and images. Users can activate this function through the “Windows Key + Click” key combination, slide the touch screen device from right to left, or search for the Click to Do icon. At present, Copilot+ PC has supported image-type Click to Do operations; text-type operations will be launched first on devices equipped with Snapdragon X-series chips, and AMD Ryzen and Intel platform devices will be gradually covered in the next few months.
Online arrangements
The above-mentioned Copilot+ PC exclusive functions will be released with the Windows non-security preview update in April 2025, and will be pushed in stages through the Controlled Function Push (CFR) mechanism.
In addition, Microsoft Live Captions (real-time subtitles) feature now supports 27 languages, including Simplified Chinese, and can be used in audio and video scenarios.
