[ Gearbest Technology News]On May 19, foreign media reported that macOS 27 will be unveiled at WWDC in a few weeks, but Apple has confirmed that the new version of the Mac operating system will lose compatibility with at least four Mac models. macOS 27 will no longer support Intel Macs and will only be used by Mac devices equipped with Apple Silicon chips.
When macOS 27 is officially launched, it will mark an important turning point for Apple. This is the first version of macOS to completely exclude Intel Macs and be designed specifically for Apple Silicon Macs. At WWDC last year, Apple announced this transition, saying that macOS Tahoe would be the last software version to support Intel Macs.
This means that Apple informed one year in advance that macOS 27 will abandon these four Macs: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019 model), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020 model, 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports), iMac (2020 model) and Mac Pro (2019 model). These four Macs are the last Intel models still supported by macOS Tahoe. When macOS 27 arrives, they won't be able to install the new system.

Will other models also lose support? Foreign media believe it is extremely unlikely. macOS 27 will hardly cut off compatibility for any Apple Silicon models, and Macs with M1 chips are expected to have at least a few more years of support. However, Apple will not announce the official compatibility list until WWDC, so it can only confirm that at least four models have been excluded.
