At the same time, the maximum overall brightness of this prototype reaches 1,000 nits, which is good performance among similar products. A spokesperson for Lenovo also assured the outside world that they are studying how to improve the display effect of micro-LED.
In terms of operation, this prototype does not use a traditional physical keyboard. In its place is a touch surface that both displays keys and serves as an area for stylus drawing. Foreign media have expressed concerns about the lack of tactile feedback when typing and the slow response of the trackpad. But Lenovo says it is testing different options and use cases and does not rule out the possibility of integrating a physical keyboard or improving existing solutions.
From the outside, the computer seems to be pretty solid. The base design is excellent, and the micro-LED panel is sandwiched between two protected glass plates and protected by a Gorilla Glass 3 coating. This means that you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged easily during daily use. When foreign media opened and closed this laptop many times, they found that there was no unpleasant feeling in the hinge part. Overall, this prototype performs quite well in terms of design and durability.

So, back to the original question: What exactly is this computer used for? Lenovo gave some suggestions. You can put something on the other side of the screen and see it directly through the screen. Meanwhile, the AI-based platform will provide interactive features through a camera located on the back of the base, allowing you to see the same thing.
For example, you can imagine augmented reality applications, or interact with a conversational agent that provides information and inspiration around the objects you see on the screen. While there are some demos out there, it still seems a bit abstract to users. However, we can also imagine the application of this computer in scenarios such as hotels or company front desks. For example, when showing the interface to the person opposite, there is no need to turn the computer over, just enable the mirror reverse display function.
Of course, this also raises the issue of confidentiality. Currently you can still guess what's on the screen if you're on the other side of it but Lenovo is considering a solution that would make the tablet usable even when it's opaque. Several possible implementations are currently being investigated.
Finally, foreign media believe that the real value of this product is mainly reflected in aesthetics and social aspects. On the one hand it's cool to have a transparent screen; on the other hand it also removes a visual barrier – you can see everyone in front of you even when they're using a computer. This more open design concept may become a trend in the development of notebook computers in the future.
However, we must also maintain a rational view of this product. At present, it is only a prototype and there is still a long way to go before commercialization. And it does leave a lot to be desired from a practicality perspective. But in any case, this Lenovo transparent laptop has brought us a lot of freshness and inspiration.
