AMD prepares to launch Ryzen7 7700X3D processor, positioned lower than 7800X3D

[ Gearbest Technology News]Recently, according to foreign media reports, AMD is preparing a new 3D V-Cache processor for the AM5 platform, model name Ryzen7 7700X3D. The chip will maintain 8 cores and 96MB L3 cache, but will be priced lower than the existing Ryzen7 7800X3D.

AMD prepares to launch Ryzen7 7700X3D processor, positioned lower than 7800X3D

According to reports, Ryzen7 7700X3D uses Zen 4 architecture, equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads, including 32MB standard L3 cache and 64MB stacked 3D V-Cache, for a total of 96MB L3 cache. In terms of core frequency, the base frequency is 4.0GHz and the acceleration frequency is 4.5GHz, which are 300MHz and 500MHz lower than Ryzen7 7800X3D respectively.

In terms of performance, due to the reduced frequency, the processor performance is expected to drop by about 5% compared to the 7800X3D, but the 3D V-Cache technology can still ensure its competitiveness in gaming scenarios. The thermal design power consumption has not yet been announced, but it is estimated to be between 105W and 120W, which is similar to the 7800X3D.

In terms of price, the Ryzen7 7700X3D is expected to be priced in the range of US$299 to US$349, which is significantly lower than the current market price of the 7800X3D of approximately US$365. The pricing puts it in line with Intel's Core Ultra 7 270K Plus in the gaming market. While Intel may be faster in multi-threaded performance, the 7700X3D still has the edge in pure gaming thanks to its 3D V-Cache.

AMD currently has three 8-core 3D V-Cache processors: Ryzen7 7800X3D, 9800X3D and 9850X3D. The addition of the new 7700X3D will further enrich the mid-to-high-end options of the AM5 platform and provide players with more cost-effective options.
