[Gearbest Technology News]Recently, according to foreign media reports, Google has brought a number of new features to its first-generation Pixel Watch smartwatch, which were originally only available on the latest second-generation Pixel Watch. These new features include new exercise tracking options, the Fitbit Relax app, and public transportation navigation.
The newly added sports tracking option allows Pixel Watch users to set a target speed for their exercise through the Pace Training feature. With the built-in GPS and motion sensors, users can easily know if they deviate from the target speed. If paired with Pixel Buds Pro headphones, users can also receive tactile and voice prompts.
The Heart Zone Training feature is also available on the first generation of Pixel Watch, allowing users to monitor their personal heart rate zones. Users can optimize and guide their workouts based on their resting heart rate and fitness level. Users can also set personal goals and receive tactile notifications and voice reminders when switching between different heart rate zones.
Other new tracking features include a redesigned workout interface with larger fonts and brighter colors, as well as auto-start and auto-stop features that automatically detect and monitor a user’s workout status.
The Fitbit Relax app will also be introduced to the first generation Pixel Watch, which allows users to relax through guided breathing exercises. Users can also get public transportation navigation from Google Maps on their wrist, understand different transportation arrival methods, real-time departure times, and a map view with a compass to help users get to their destination. If users have the LTE version of the Pixel Watch, they can start navigation directly from the watch, otherwise they can also start from the connected phone and then display subsequent directions on the watch.
Google said that these new features are designed to allow first-generation Pixel Watch users to enjoy a better smartwatch experience, and also demonstrate Google's innovation capabilities on the Wear OS platform. These new features will be gradually pushed to first-generation Pixel Watch users in the coming weeks, and users can check and update their watch systems through the settings on their watches or phones.
