Tablet shipments in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 18.6% compared to last year. The company’s sales have increased despite no new mainstream tablet models. Its growth comes primarily from commercial deployments, which typically use Galaxy XCover devices.

Apple has become the world’s largest tablet brand as always. In the quarter, the company shipped 12.3 million iPads, accounting for 35.8% of the market share. Despite shipments rising 18.2%, its market share fell from 37% in the second quarter of 2023 to 35.8% in the second quarter of 2024. The company has launched a new iPad Pro series with LG and Samsung tandem OLED panels, but their sales have not changed as much as one would expect.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Tab S10 series later this year. The series is expected to include the Galaxy Tab S10, Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. These tablets may use MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, the first time Samsung’s high-end tablet series has adopted the processor. As a result, the company’s sales in the last quarter of the year are likely to improve.
