Gearbestnoted that in the tablet segment, in the third quarter of 2024, China’s smart tablet online monitoring market sales were 2.938 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%; sales were 8.45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%. In terms of brand structure, Huawei and Xiaomi are among the top three in the market.
Runto Technology pointed out that the increase in market size is mainly driven by learning tablets and readers. In the learning tablet market, education and training companies continue to exert their efforts, achieving a balanced distribution of high-quality educational resources in various price ranges. Driven by the trend of domestic substitution and colorization, sales of readers increased by 22.6%. In addition, both learning tablets, which are mainly targeted at elementary, middle and high school students, and general-purpose tablets for college students have achieved double-digit growth.
In terms of brand rankings, the top four positions of Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and Honor have not changed. The fifth-placed brand changed from Lenovo in 2023 to iFlytek in 2024. iFlytek’s sales share increased by 1.2 percentage points to 4.1%. This growth was mainly driven by sales of its P30 learning tablet.
The market share of education and training companies and electronic paper tablet manufacturers has also increased significantly. Among them, the market shares of Xiaoyuan and Zuoyebang increased by 1 and 1.2 percentage points respectively. The market shares of Zhangyue, Aragonite and Hanwang each increased by about 0.5 percentage points.
Runto Technology predicts that in the fourth quarter, with the elongation of the “Double Eleven” front and the boost of the “old-for-new” subsidy policy, online market sales are expected to reach 4.27 million units, a year-on-year increase of 16.3%.
