Production distribution of the four iPhone 15 series OEMs released, Foxconn accounts for the majority

[Gearbest Technology News]Apple relies on four contract manufacturers to assemble different iPhone models. Arguably the company with the closest ties to Apple is Taiwan’s Foxconn, which is responsible for producing 70% of iPhone 15 models, according to data compiled by Visual Capitalist citing TrendForce. In addition, 25% of iPhone 15 mobile phones are manufactured by Luxshare Precision, a Chinese manufacturer. The remaining 5% is built by the Indian company Tata.

60% of iPhone 15 Plus production is assembled by Luxshare Precision. Taiwan's Pegatron made 35% of the 6.7-inch non-Pro iPhone models produced last year. The remaining 5% is assembled by Tata.

As for the high-end iPhone 15 Pro series, this model is produced by only two contract manufacturers. Foxconn and Pegatron produced 70% and 30% of iPhone 15 Pro models respectively. As for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Foxconn is responsible for assembling 70% of the top model, while Luxshare Precision is responsible for the remaining 30%.

Among them, Luxshare Precision is the only contract manufacturer headquartered in mainland China to produce iPhone mobile phones. But Apple has greater confidence in Foxconn, because 70% of the iPhone 15 Pro series is assembled by Foxconn. India's Tata Group is India's largest corporate group and owns subsidiaries such as Tata Motors, Tata Steel, and Air India. The four contract manufacturers receive components from more than 200 suppliers and must assemble them all together to create one of the four iPhone 15 models.

Apple has reportedly been looking to move iPhone assembly out of China. The tech giant has been looking to expand phone production in India, as well as other countries that could become iPhone production facilities, including Vietnam and Mexico, which have become major technology hubs. Whichever country Apple chooses must be close to the supply chain and able to deliver components in the quality and quantity Apple requires.
