It is reported that the patent not only covers how to accurately identify the user’s stress, but also mentions the various responses that the device may provide in response to stress levels. Apple suggests that when the device detects that the user is in a stressed state, it can send notifications to remind the user to adjust the state, or automatically recommend relaxing content, such as meditation guidance or soothing music, to help users relieve stress.
The implementation of this technology relies on the detection of a series of physiological indicators, including electroencephalogram (EEG) amplitude, pupil modulation, eye gaze saccades, heart rate, and electrodermal activity/skin conductivity. Comprehensive analysis of these data can more accurately assess the user’s stress level.
It is worth noting that Apple’s new patent is not limited to mobile devices such as iPads and iPhones. Head-mounted devices will also be an important area of application.
