The increase in RTX 5090 is even more shocking. Asus’ cheapest TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 OC version costs $2749.99, a 37.5% premium over the FE version. The ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC version is 53% higher, while the ROG Astral LC RTX 5090 peaked at its peak with an astonishing price of US$3,409 (about RMB 25,000), with a premium of 70% compared to the official pricing.

Compared to Asus’ significant price increase, MSI has kept its RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 series prices slightly more restrained, but they still exceed a reasonable range. For example, the MSI RTX 5080 Ventus 3X starts at $1,139, while the most expensive RTX 5080 16G Suprim Liquid SOC version hits $1,499, an increase of about 50%.

MSI prices its cheapest RTX 5090 Ventus 3X at US$2,379, while it sets the most expensive Suprim Liquid SOC version at US$2,789, reflecting a premium of nearly 39.5% over the FE version. Although it is a little bit “kind” compared to Asus, overall, these increases are still difficult for players to accept.

Regarding this round of graphics card price increases, industry insiders generally believe that the main reason is tight supply. The initial production of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 is relatively small, and the market demand is strong.
