On May 15, the well-known research organization IDC released the latest data, showing that China's overall PC market fell 27.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023. The workstation market was relatively better, but it also fell 7.4%. IDC predicts that in 2023, with the recovery of the economic level and the continuous in-depth exploration of design and development, digital media, scientific computing and AI, the demand for workstations in the commercial market will further increase, and the annual workstation market shipments will reach 958,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%.

IDC data also shows that in the first quarter of 2023, China's mobile workstations decreased by 5.2% year-on-year, which is better than the overall workstation market. It is expected that the mobile workstation market will account for 33.4% of the overall workstation market in 2023.

From the perspective of the market structure, several PC giants still occupy the mainstream position in the workstation market. Specifically, in the first quarter of 2023, Lenovo still ranked first in the Chinese workstation market with 42.8%; Dell ranked second, with a year-on-year decline in share; HP ranked third, with a year-on-year increase in share.

IDC believes that the workstation market will pick up starting in the second half of 2023, and predicts that the compound growth rate of China's workstation market shipments will reach 6.1% in the next five years.
