Japanese media dismantles Apple Vision Pro: pixel density is 7 times that of Meta products

Compared with other glasses-type terminals, the “Quest 3” launched by Meta in the United States in 2023 uses a 4.55 million pixel LCD screen, which has a display area about 2.8 times that of Vision Pro. However, the number of pixels in the Vision Pro's display screen is as high as 11.5 million per eye, which is amazing. In terms of the number of pixels (density) in the same area, the pixel density of Vision Pro is 7 times that of Quest 3, which means that its resolution is higher, providing users with a clearer and more delicate visual experience.

In order to gain a deeper understanding of the cost structure of Vision Pro, Japanese media estimated the cost of its OLED display. The results show that the cost of Vision Pro's binocular OLED display is about 70,000 yen (about RMB 3,349), accounting for nearly 40% of the total component cost. This cost is much higher than the cost of the LCD screen used by Meta's Quest 3 (9,000 yen), almost 8 times the latter.
