Although the iPhone 16 series launch conference has ended, Apple still has some products waiting to be announced in 2024. These Apple 2024 product updates are expected to bring significant changes, especially for the Mac and iPad series.
Apple’s tradition is to launch new iPhones and other products at a special event in September. This year’s press conference is no exception, bringing new iPhones, AirPods updates, and Apple Watch series. But the Mac and iPad series are not updated at this event, meaning Apple may have some action in the coming months.
Apple usually holds another launch in October to supplement products not mentioned in the September event. Given the absence of iPad and Mac at the September launch, they are likely to be the focus of the October launch.
iPad Japanese iPad Mini
iPads tend to be updated sync with iPhones, but since the last update was in fall 2022, it seems like the time for this year’s update. The iPad is expected to receive a chip upgrade to support Apple Intelligence.
The iPad Mini has not been updated for three years, so chip upgrades are basically expected. Additionally, the front camera may move to the lateral position, while the rear camera may hold a 12MP sensor, or upgrade to 48MP like the iPhone 16.
Mac Mini
The Mac Mini is also likely to be updated in October, with the last update in early 2023. Rumors say the new Mac Mini may have a more compact design and will be available in the M4 version, and may even have an M4 Pro model.
iMac
The 24-inch iMac was upgraded to the M3 chip in November 2023 and is expected to transition to the M4 soon. Additionally, there are rumors about a larger iMac, which may come with a 32-inch display.
MacBook Pro
MacBook Pro is usually equipped with the latest chips, so it is reasonable to upgrade the M4. After the update to M3 in autumn 2023, the launch of the M4 version is almost inevitable.

Apple has some products that are expected to be updated, but are unlikely to be released this year. For example, the iPad Pro and iPad Air have updated their chips earlier this year unless Apple intends to launch an M4 Pro or M4 Max version.
The MacBook Air is not expected to be updated until spring 2025, while Mac Studio and Mac Pro may be upgraded by the end of 2025.
In short, Apple may release new MacBook Air, Mac Studio, or Mac Pro by October or the end of 2024, but updates for these products are more likely to appear in 2025.
