[ Gearbest Technology News]According to foreign media reports, Apple’s M4 Mac mini will be redesigned soon. The new Mac mini will be close to the size of the Apple TV set-top box, according to a report by Bloomberg on Thursday.
The report mentioned the size of the Apple TV, but it is unclear whether the redesigned Mac mini becomes flatter or taller. Since Apple’s own Mac computers no longer support upgradeable RAM or storage, these factors need to be considered in case size.
Rumors are that the device will be equipped with three different types of USB-C ports, as well as plenty of room for a power cord and an HDMI port. It is said that the two models under test are code-named “J773”.
Apple’s suppliers are said to have planned to ship M4 Mac mini to Apple in late August and are scheduled to release it to consumers later in 2024. The M4 Pro version is said to be shipped in October.
Now Apple’s own Mac mini design is mostly empty, and it is designed for Intel processors that were once installed inside and have severe heat. This demand no longer exists.
What the outside world is not very clear about is the specific appearance design of this new Mac mini. Previous rumors mentioned a short and chunky all-aluminum design, and some discussed the possibility of the “M1X” Mac mini moving the power supply to the outside of the device, similar to the power plug design of the iMac.
