Apple is rumored to upgrade MacBook Pro twice this year to support cellular network connections

[ Gearbest Technology News]According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman in his “Power On” newsletter, Apple plans to launch new MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Studio Display models in the first half of this year.

Gurman said that MacBook Pro models equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips will be available soon. Not only that, Apple also plans to conduct a major redesign of the MacBook Pro at the end of 2026, which may be equipped with an OLED touch screen, Dynamic Island, M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, a thinner body and built-in cellular network connectivity. This means that Apple’s MacBook Pro product line will receive two upgrades this year. Previously, Apple updated the MacBook Pro twice within a year, launching the M2 Pro and M2 Max models in January 2023, and the M3 Pro and M3 Max models in October of the same year.

There is speculation that Apple will unveil MacBook Pro models equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips at the Creator Studio application suite launch event on January 28.

In terms of other product lines, MacBook Air is expected to be equipped with M5 chips, while Mac Studio will be equipped with higher-end M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. There are also reports that a new Studio Display is under development and may have mini-LED backlight, ProMotion technology that supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, HDR support, and an A19 or A19 Pro chip. Last month, this next-generation Studio Display appeared in China’s regulatory database.

In addition, Gurman also said that Apple will also launch a low-priced MacBook equipped with an iPhone chip this year, which is expected to use a version of the A18 Pro chip of the iPhone 16 Pro, and will also update the Mac mini.
