[ Gearbest Technology News]Recently, AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D processors were finally unveiled on Geekbench. Compared with the previous generation, the new processor has significantly improved in single-core scores.
As early as the 2025 CES exhibition, AMD announced the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D processors based on the Zen 5 architecture, aiming to provide top-notch performance. Although AMD showed the expected performance of these two processors at the time, it did not provide specific comprehensive environmental test data. Now, the results of the two new processors’ running scores on Geekbench are officially revealed, and the results are quite exciting.

In testing, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D were equipped with Gigabyte’s X670 AORUS ELITE AX motherboards, respectively, and were equipped with 32GB of DDR5 memory. According to the running score results, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D achieve approximately 15% performance improvements in single-core benchmarks compared to the previous generation of processors. However, in terms of multi-core performance, the performance improvement is relatively small, about 7%. Although the 9950X3D scores were slightly lagging in the multi-core test, the final score may change considering that these data are still early test results.

In terms of specifications, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is equipped with 16 cores and 32 threads, using two CCDs and an IO chip, providing a total cache of up to 144MB, of which 64MB comes from the CCD of Zen 5 and 64MB from the X3D stack. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D has 12 cores and 24 thread configurations, with a total cache up to 140MB. Previously, it was reported that the improvement in gaming performance of the new Ryzen 9 processor is not much different from the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
It is understood that AMD may launch these new Ryzen 9 “X3D” processors together at the launch of the upcoming RDNA 4 graphics card series. AMD is expected to be officially displayed in late February or early March, when more details and performance of the two processors will be revealed.
