OPPO Pantanal System integrates Matter protocol to build a more open ecosystem

[Zhaibi News]Matter China Media Conference officially opened in Shenzhen on November 4, 2022. At the conference, OPPO attendees stated that their company's self-developed intelligent cross-end system Pantanal will integrate the Matter protocol for the first time, and this integration will build a broader, more interconnected and more open ecosystem.

OPPO said that the Pantanal it built is a command cross-terminal system built with people at the center. After all, the future development trend is the Internet of Everything. At the same time, the system will be integrated into its mobile phone system, ColorOS, to expand ColorOS's intelligent cross-terminal capabilities, and connect smart devices of various systems through the Andes Smart Cloud AIoT platform, truly realizing the indifference and unlimitedness between devices and systems.

The reason why OPPO chose to merge with Matter is that technology giants including Google, Apple and Samsung have already joined the Matter protocol. This shows that the Matter protocol is one of the important standard protocols in the global smart home field. The protocol can connect devices that support WiFi, Thread and other connections through IP, creating a seamless product experience with reliable security. Therefore, OPPO's cooperation with it is a win-win choice.

At the conference, Yang Ning, director of OPPO's Standards Research Department, also spoke: “The Pantanal system is committed to building a software foundation for the integration of all things. The integration of the Pantanal system and the Matter protocol is conducive to the extensive interconnection and interoperability of the IoT ecosystem. To this end, OPPO will continue to participate in and support the Matter standard to promote the development of Matter interconnection technology and open ecology.”

At the same time, OPPO also demonstrated the first product that supports the Matter protocol through a mobile phone to control the switch, brightness, color temperature and light color of home color temperature lamps. At the same time, OPPO said that products that integrate the Matter protocol standard are currently being prepared. After the official release of its ColorOS 13.1 system, more and more smart devices that support the Matter protocol will be connected to OPPO's smart home APP.

I believe that in the future, users will be able to control smart home appliances such as lighting, access control, and TVs through OPPO phones, thus providing consumers with a more intelligent, convenient, and comfortable new technological life.
