[Mobile China News]According to foreign media reports, Apple recently released a Rapid Security Response (RSR) update, which can be used for users of Apple phones and iPad tablets running iOS and iPadOS 16.5.1 updates and macOS Ventura 13.4.1 updates.
Rapid Security Response updates are designed to provide security fixes to iOS and macOS users without having to install a full software update. Today's update addresses an actively exploited WebKit vulnerability, so it's best to update as soon as possible. iOS Security Response 16.5.1 is available through the Apple Settings app on your phone or iPad, but it's a quick update that takes only a few minutes to download the update, followed by a quick restart of the installation process. macOS updates can be installed through System Settings.
After installing the Rapid Security Response update, iOS 16.5.1 users and macOS Ventura 13.4.1 users will see an updated version of the software. Clicking on the version in the About section of Settings will display information about the installed operating system version and the Rapid Security Response update. Those who want to disable the Rapid Security Response update on their iPhone can also choose to manually remove the update. You can remove Rapid Security Response from your device by going to About Settings, tapping on the iOS version, and then tapping Delete Security Update. The update can also be disabled on a Mac.
Apple has been testing the Rapid Security Response feature since last year, with RSR first introduced in iOS 16 and macOS Ventura.
