On the same day, ZTE announced that it had signed a global patent cross-licensing agreement with vivo, launching strategic cooperation between the two parties in the patent field.
Officials said that the strategic cooperation between ZTE and vivo reflects the respect of both parties for intellectual property rights. The cross-licensing agreement between the two parties also reflects the mutual recognition of Chinese companies' contributions to each other's standards in the field of communications, and also demonstrates the determination and ability of domestic innovative companies to find win-win solutions. Through continuous R&D innovation and respect for patents and licensing, this will help provide solid guarantees for the sustainable and healthy development of the ICT industry and provide consumers with more innovative products and services.
Earlier on February 5, vivo also announced that it had reached a global patent cross-licensing agreement with Nokia, which covers the standard essential patents of both parties in 5G and other cellular communication technologies.
