Xiaomi’s first small folding screen MIX Flip revealed: codenamed “Ruyi” or may debut in May

MIX Flip is expected to be officially released globally. Now, foreign media have exposed the main specifications of MIX Flip.

According to foreign media, Xiaomi developed the first MIX Flip folding screen mobile phone in 2021. The device is codenamed “argo”. It is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. But then Xiaomi stopped the development of its first MIX Flip phone. The last internal MIUI version for this prototype device was MIUI-V21.4.24. Since then, Xiaomi has never developed a new Flip model, and the focus has been on the MIX Fold series.

Xiaomi is currently testing the MIX Flip internally and expects it to be officially released in May. At first, foreign media thought this model was MIX Fold 4. But after taking a closer look at the Xiaomi code, I found that that was not the case. MIX Fold 4 will continue to be sold only in the Chinese market, while MIX Flip will be sold to global users.

The model number of MIX Flip is “2405CPX3DG/2405CPX3DC”. The device is codenamed “Ruyi” and has an internal model number of “N8”. Internal number “8” is usually assigned to MIX series devices. The last device with internal number 8 was MIX 4, with the model number “K8”.

The new MIX Flip will be Xiaomi’s first folding screen product. Xiaomi is working very hard to develop this particular device. MIX Flip will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 mobile platform. It is expected to feature dual cameras on the back, with a small screen underneath.

Xiaomi MIX Flip will be officially released in many countries including Türkiye. But it should be noted that foreign media said that this special device will not be launched in India. Foreign media expect this device to be unveiled in May this year.
