Samsung’s new smartwatch is coming, it may be an affordable version of Watch 4, not the FE version

There have been rumors that Samsung may be developing an affordable smartwatch called Watch FE. However, Max Jambor, a leaker and reporter who has long tracked technology trends, denied this naming on the X platform.

In response to a fan question, Jambor said that although Samsung Watch 4 (2024) is indeed under development, it will not be named Watch FE. He emphasized that although the new watch does not use the FE logo in its name, it can actually be regarded as an FE version of the watch. This seems to imply that the Watch 4 (2024) may not be much different in functionality and positioning from the originally expected Watch FE.

Within Samsung's product line, the FE series usually represents products that are slightly inferior to top-tier devices in terms of features and price. Therefore, it was originally speculated that Watch FE might be a more affordable option than Watch 6 and 7.

Regardless, it seems likely that the Samsung Watch 4 (2024) will also be a Wear OS smartwatch for consumers on a budget. The original Watch 4 was released in 2021 and ran Wear OS 3 instead of Samsung's own Tizen system. Foreign media speculate that the 2024 model may have additions and improvements based on this, but specific details still need to wait for Samsung’s official release.

Foreign media also said that Samsung will launch the Watch 7 series later this year.
