[Gearbest News]On December 21, the latest data released by Canalys showed that in the third quarter of 2023, shipments of personal computers (desktops, notebooks and workstations) in mainland China fell by 16% year-on-year, but increased by 15% quarter-on-quarter, reaching 1,100 million units, the market is further recovering. Although PC shipments fell by 15% year-on-year, Lenovo still ranked first in the third quarter of 2023; in terms of tablets, Apple and Huawei firmly dominate.

In terms of personal computers, Lenovo still ranked first in the third quarter of 2023, shipping more than 4.25 million units, accounting for 38% of the market share, far ahead; HP ranked second with a market share of 11%, shipping more than 1.22 million units, and the acquisition of Poly further strengthened its commercial product portfolio; Huawei ranked third, with shipments of approximately 970,000 units. Although sales fell 5% year-on-year, its market share increased; Dell and Asus ranked fourth and fifth respectively, but both suffered a significant decline of 36%.

Unlike the year-on-year decline in desktop and notebook shipments, the tablet market maintained a gratifying development momentum in the third quarter, growing 16% year-on-year to 7.4 million units. Canalys predicts that the tablet market in mainland China will grow by 5% in 2023, reaching 28 million units, and remain stable in 2024. Whether for study or work, the ongoing digitalization trend is a driving force behind the expansion of tablets. Tablets can be used in a variety of life scenarios including home, school and business environments.

In terms of shipments, Apple and Huawei firmly dominate. Apple shipped 2.29 million units in the third quarter, but its market share dropped from 38% to 31%; thanks to active product marketing and channel promotion, Huawei's market share increased to 24%, with shipments exceeding 1.77 million units; Xiaomi's tablets have also grown, with its tablet market share increasing from 7% in the third quarter of 2022 to 11%, with shipments exceeding 800,000 units, ranking third. Honor and Lenovo remain in the top five despite declining market share and shipments.
