Intel and Cadence sign multi-year cooperation agreement to jointly optimize 14A process

According to the agreement, Cadence will provide its advanced AI-driven EDA tools and design IP to Intel foundries, combining Intel's process innovation and design expertise to achieve deeper design technology collaborative optimization. Both parties stated that this cooperation aims to help customers unlock new levels of performance, power consumption and efficiency, and accelerate the realization of next-generation products.

Cadence President and CEO Anirudh Devgan said that advancing the relationship into a deeper collaboration is an important milestone for the two companies. Naga Chandrasekaran, executive vice president and general manager of Intel Foundry, pointed out that the expanded collaboration with Cadence reflects Intel Foundry’s continued commitment to providing customers with technology roadmaps and ecosystem support.

The 14A process is considered a key node in Intel's foundry business, and its success will have a major impact on the company's future. The node will not only be available to external customers, but will also be used in Intel's own internal products and is expected to power several next-generation chips. Previous reports stated that Intel has reached relevant cooperation with TeraFab, Apple and other companies.

Although the 14A process has received more attention, Intel has not officially announced any major customer lists. The company's CEO Lip-Bu's strategy is to have customers disclose the partnership on their own, rather than Intel proactively announcing it.
