Indian PC market shipments reached 3.6 million units in 2025Q2, a year-on-year increase of 6%

[ Gearbest Technology News]According to the latest data released by Canalys, in the second quarter of 2025, the Indian personal computer market (excluding tablets) shipped 3.6 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6%. Laptops became the main growth engine, with shipments increasing 8% year-on-year to 2.7 million units; desktop shipments increased slightly by 1% to 861,000 units. In contrast, the tablet market performed weakly, with shipments falling 27% year-on-year to 1.2 million units.

Market analysis points out that the rebound in corporate demand is the core driving force for PC growth this quarter. As enterprises accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence infrastructure to improve productivity and automation, AI notebook shipments have nearly tripled year-on-year. Equipment upgrading, especially the migration to hardware that supports Windows 11 systems, has also significantly boosted corporate purchases. Data show that enterprise PC shipments increased by more than 11% year-on-year in the quarter, with demand for workstations particularly prominent, growing by as much as 41% year-on-year, reflecting the strong demand for high-performance computing equipment in the fields of engineering, design and content creation.

Ashweej Aithal, senior analyst at Omdia, said: “Enterprise-led demand remains the key to growth this quarter. The rapid popularity of AI notebooks shows that companies are actively preparing for future technological transformation.” He also pointed out that the growth of the consumer market is due to the strengthening of retail momentum and the popularity of digitalization. Manufacturers' promotional activities on Republic Day and at the end of the quarter, combined with the strong pull of e-commerce platforms, drove consumer notebook shipments to increase by 12% year-on-year.
