It is reported that the Samsung S26 Ultra may adopt Sony's new 200-pixel CMOS, with a size of about 1/1.1 inch. If true, this will become Sony's first 200-pixel sensor for smartphones. In contrast, the Samsung S25 Ultra and its predecessors still use the 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL HP2 sensor, and the new sensor will undoubtedly bring better photosensitive capabilities.
Larger image sensors usually mean stronger light inflows, which will significantly improve in night scene shooting, detail resolution and digital zoom. The rumored sensor upgrade may significantly enhance the image performance of Samsung's flagship models and narrow the gap in camera hardware with some Chinese high-end mobile phones.
