A suspected Apple M4 MacBook Pro recently appeared in an unboxing video by Russian YouTuber Wylsacom, leading to one of Apple’s biggest product leaks. Another user, Romancev768, uploaded a similar video shortly afterward, further confirming the leak. This event has caused a stir in tech circles, especially with the details surrounding the device’s design, specifications, and packaging.
The MacBook Pro in the video comes in a sleek deep space black color, equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It closely resembles a model leaked in late September, with a similar box and model. However, the packaging shows some inconsistencies. For example, the specification sticker format differs from Apple’s standard retail packaging, casting doubt on the box’s authenticity. Additionally, the wallpaper on the packaging matches the M3 series, prompting questions about whether Apple approved the packaging.
Apple has never used a “512GB storage + 16GB memory” configuration in its chip labeling system. Typically, Apple places the chip model below the device’s name, such as “14-inch MacBook Pro with the Apple M4 Pro chip.” Although the stickers still show essential regulatory details, the format discrepancy raises concerns.
The MacBook Pro in the leak includes three Thunderbolt ports and shows the system information with 16GB of RAM and the M4 chip. However, someone could easily manipulate this data. The MacBook Pro looks very similar to the existing space black M3 Pro MacBook Pro, with the only notable difference being the reduction of memory from 18GB to 16GB.
This leak might rival the infamous iPhone 4 leak from 2010, as the unboxing video reveals even the packaging details. Although we can’t yet confirm the authenticity of the M4 MacBook Pro, the leaked specifications and packaging hints provide an exciting preview of Apple’s next major release.
