[ Gearbest Technology News]According to the latest research of TrendForce, the current OLED display market is ushering in explosive growth, and shipments continue to set new records.
In the first quarter of 2025, the shipments of OLED displays reached about 507,000 units, a significant increase of 175% compared with the same period last year. According to estimates, shipments are expected to climb to 650,000 units in the second quarter, driven by the soaring sales of 27-inch UHD models. Overall, the shipment of OLED displays in 2025 is expected to reach 2.58 million units, with an annual growth rate of up to 81%. Its penetration rate in the overall display market will also increase to 2%, and OLED displays are accelerating their market share.
From the perspective of brand competition landscape, Samsung ranks first with its market share of more than 22%, and its main 49-inch products account for as much as 40%. With the 27-inch UHD product selling hotly in the second quarter, this size product is expected to become Samsung's highest-shipped OLED display, further consolidating its market position.
Asus became the “dark horse” in the market in the first quarter, with its market share jumping from fourth to second place, with less than one percentage point gap with Samsung, and even achieved a single-month shipment peak in February and March. Asus has invested a lot of resources in the field of OLED displays, actively explored product innovation, launched special products such as portable dual-screen displays, comprehensively improving the product line layout, laying a solid foundation for the increase of its market share.
MSI ranks third with a market share of 14%. Its stable performance is due to the active expansion of new channels and launching new OLED products in 2024. Not only does the overall annual shipment growth rate of displays reach as high as 63%, but the annual growth rate of OLED displays is an astonishing 36 times. In addition, MSI's high-end OLED product shipments have increased, driving the overall shipment of e-sports displays to increase by 69% year-on-year, ranking among the top in the industry.
LGE ranked fourth with a market share of 13% in the first quarter, and its new 45-inch WUHD products drove the shipment of products of the same size to 25%. However, since 27-inch UHD products were not planned in the second quarter, the shipment gap with other brands is expected to gradually widen. Dell's market share in the first quarter was 11%, ranking fifth. Its new 27-inch UHD and 31.5-inch 120Hz products are expected to make efforts in the second quarter, driving the market share ranking to rise.
